Uncovering the sweet success of sustainable cocoa farming through the eyes of one farmer
Onboarded by Beautiful Stories Studios, we brought the compelling story of cocoa farming to light, highlighting the challenges and successes of one farmer and his cooperative through an impactful and informative documentary film.
Stephen's story is one of dedication, hard work, and perseverance as a cocoa farmer and cooperative manager. Starting as a small-scale farmer producing 15 metric tonnes of cocoa, Stephen has been able to significantly increase production to 1,200 metric tonnes through his work with ABOCFA Cooperative, the only Organic Fairtrade certified cocoa cooperative in Ghana. Through his leadership and the implementation of sustainable and fair trade practices, the cooperative has been able to improve yields, increase income for farmers and their families, and make a positive impact on the local economy. Additionally, the cooperative's partnership with Tony's Chocolonely, a chocolate company that implements sustainable sourcing principles, has brought many benefits to the community, like building a school and providing clean water, which have a lasting impact on the lives of the farmers and their families. We were delighted to be able to bring this story to a wider audience and showcase the impact of sustainable and fair trade practices in supporting farmers and their communities.
